A few months ago, some very (extremely) generous friends gave us a kitchenaid mixer as a housewarming gift. I was always intrigued by this piece of equipment, but I’m scared to use it. Call me crazy. I’m scared. I have no idea why. I think it’s because this machine is expensive and I’m just afraid to break it. Also, it could be because I didn’t grow up in a household with one, so I’ve only seen it used once, by my mother inlaw, making mashed potatoes.
Nevertheless, I will have to overcome my fear. Just like other things (that scare me), I will get past this stupidity and actually use it. So, now, here comes the question. What should I make? I’m thinking bread. I think that’s the most common thing, no? Or what about Cinnamon Rolls?
I tried making challah a while ago and it turned rock hard in the oven, so I’m a little cautious of making bread again. Is there a fail-safe recipe floating around anywhere?
So I guess, tonight, I’ll whip out the manual, read it from cover to cover, scour the interweb for a good and promising recipe, and get baking. Wish me luck.
